Blog Intro

My prior experience with technology is fairly limited. I've mainly worked with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. And have found that those are typically the only programs I resort to because I know how to use them best. I've used Photoshop and In Design a little bit, but am not nearly as comfortable with those programs as Word and PowerPoint.

In this class I hope to learn more about other ways to present information. Since I want to go into Elementary Education, I would like to learn more about how technology can be used in an educational way with children. In addition, I'd like to know how to make learning more interesting and fun with different programs.

After taking the learning style survey I realized that I am more of an active learner than a reflective one, which surprised me. I feel like the majority of classes I've previously taken emphasized the importance of reflecting on the topics I've learned rather than pushing us to apply information. I did, however, know I was a visual learner because I've always used diagrams and graphs to help me grasp concepts.

  1. Great post! It is very impressive that you have experience with Photoshop and In Design. We won't go over those programs, specifically, but we will talk a bit about the principles of design. We'll definity cover many topics that will be applicable to elementary instruction. If there is something that we don't cover and you want more information, please let me know!
